Meredith's Introduction

Hey!

I’m Meredith and I am an author on this blog.  I am a freshman at North Carolina State University.  State was my first choice and I am so thankful to be privileged enough to end up exactly where I wanted.  I love to meet new people which is also a reason why I was so eminent on coming to State.  The population of the university alone is bigger than the population of my hometown, so I knew I would have more than enough opportunities to make new friends.  I am probably the most honest and blunt person you will ever meet.  Even though I have a tough front, I have the biggest heart and I try to be the best friend and family member possible.  I love my pet rabbit Chloe more than anything in this world and I love to spend my free time petting and cuddling with her.  I am someone who likes to have fun on the beach or the lake relaxing or doing water sports.  I am a math person more so than an English person, so I tend to write in a straightforward fashion.  I do not like to write flowery writing or construct fancy sentences.  I like to get straight to the point as quickly and easy as possible.  However, I will add casual language instead of a more educated and formal language.  My goal is to portray my honest and sassy attitude in my writing.  What I do not wish to portray is a snarky attitude.  Yes, honesty is a big thing for me and I will be truthful, but at the same time I will not be rude or degrading.  With my classmates and I combined personalities and writing styles, I have confidence that this blog will be absolutely incredible and one that will be a template for future English 101 student.

Hannah's Introduction

Hey y’all!

My name is Hannah Haupricht and I’m a freshman at North Carolina State University. I’m always in a beach state of mind and I’m originally from Wilmington, NC. I am a Marine Sciences major and my project for this semester is writing a blog! I always hope to come across as a knowledgeable person with a dash of humor thrown in to my writing, because who actually enjoys reading something dry. I love animals and I am a pescatarian. I’m also a mama to a Chinese water dragon, a golden gecko, and a yellow belly slider (I kinda like reptiles). Animals are just one of my many passions I hope to be able to write about this semester. I am also a sister to Sara ( a graduate of NC State) and Alexis who is 9.
My writing style is pretty straight forward. I’m not into super wordy posts. This probably comes from being a science major, but when I read an article I want to know the point fairly quickly and I hope to write the same way. I hope you enjoy our blog these next few months. I am looking forward to writing for you! Enjoy your stay in the heads of four college students from North Carolina.

Explovent's Introduction

Hi there,

My name is Explovent Flores and I am from High Point, North Carolina. Currently I am a first year here at NC State and part of the Exploratory Studies program. Eventually I want to get into computer engineering program, since I like building computers. I hope that in this blog; I will be able to write about tech stuff such as the newest and latest innovation in the tech world. Just a heads up my writing is very simple and straightforward. I am not into making something longer than what it should be. In most of my past writings, I have tried to make them easy to understand to the reader. I would like to continue this trend to my audience that will read this blog.

Another thing to note about this blog; would have to be that it is still a work in progress. As time goes on I would like to improve my posts on this blog and make my writing skills improve. Currently I consider myself a novice to blog style writing. Hopefully I can improve my writing style and be an interesting blogger. I would like to maybe keep my blog post formal but at the same time somewhat casual in nature an
d also include a bit of humor here and there.

Anne's Introduction

Hey everyone,

My name is Anne Woodard, I am a Raleigh native currently attending North Carolina State University. I am a part of the Life Science First Year program, with the intent of pursuing a degree in Nutrition. Or rather, this is what I thought my plans would be.

I chose to come to state because I have wolfpacker in my blood, but I feel nursing is the career for me, so this might mean it’s time for change. I have submitted applications to two other schools, Clemson and UNCC, in hopes of transferring into one of their nursing programs. My dream is to one day be a pediatric nurse in the children’s ward of a hospital. I love science, helping people, and kiddos, so why not combine all three of those things into a lifelong career?

Aside from my studies, I love to live a busy but balanced life. You may often finding me training in the gym, hanging with friends, or visiting my sweet family. I am always down for a quiet afternoon spent with a good book, my beat-up journal, and my own thoughts.

I am excited to have a blog space this semester, and a chance to work on my writing skills. My goal is to post content that is meaningful and knowledgable while approaching topics from a new perspective. I hope you enjoy reading what is to come.
